Adrián Demoč
Composer

About
His music sits comfortably on the edges of several aesthetics, most notably that of American experimentalists, in contrast with European minimalism and spectralism. There is also a specifically European sensibility, sometimes present as nostalgia or lament. Demoč tends to isolate a few parameters and work with them exclusively, leading to a non-rhetorical quietude and contemplation. There is often a sense of the remnants of an earlier music being heard; only its core, its general feeling – a poetics heard from a distance. At other times, emotional intensity and expression play a crucial role.
Ian Mikyska
"Over the last three or four years Slovak composer Adrián Demoč has produced a steady stream of beautifully articulated music drawn from reduced materials. He exhibits an impressive sense of imperturbability, discovering richly nuanced potential in the most stripped-down forms."
Peter Margasak, The Best Contemporary Classical Music on Bandcamp, April 2024 | Bandcamp Daily
"Playing Adrián's music is like meditating but being above the music and 'controlling' the meditation at the same time. And it happens immediately, I don't need time to adjust, to get used to it."
